How to get there

The village of Castellaro Lagusello

The fortified village of Castellaro Lagusello, within the municipality of Monzambano, stands on a hill, and overlooks a small lake of morainic origin (which nowadays constitutes the Natural Reserve of the morainic complex of Castellaro Lagusello), in the middle of an area which for centuries has had a great strategic importance.

Both castle and lake are outstanding here, and give the name to this small village: Castellaro Lagusello comes indeed from “castellaro” (fortified fence) and “lagusello” (small lake).

Everything deserves to be discovered once you step over the threshold of the main entrance to the village, which welcomes visitors. Some people say about this village: “Leave your worries behind, ye who enter here…” and so it is, just like entering another dimension, perhaps the same dimension of the past, surrounded by quiet and slow pace.
